   Belleville's annual Memorial Day Parade gets underway at 10 am on the morning of May 26 this year. In addition to being a thoroughly enjoyable parade, it's also a great opportunity to be a part of the local community and explore some of Belleville's charming downtown district. The parade will move east along Main Street through the Belleville Public Square, and the parade route is within walking distance of some beautiful Belleville homes for sale.
   
   
2. Collinsville AquaPark - 10 Gateway Dr, Collinsville, IL 62234
   With its seven water slides, lazy river, lap pool, Monsoon Mountain, and Aqua Climb Wall, Collinsville AquaPark is one of the premier water parks in Southwest Illinois. Memorial Day weekend is a great time to enjoy some family fun at the park. And in appreciation of military personnel and their service, Collinsville AquaPark will be offering free admission to all past and present military members on Monday, May 26. 
   
   
3. Honoring the Legacy Memorial Day 5k - 1105 Mascoutah Ave, Belleville, IL 62220
   If you're looking for something active to do on Memorial Day, lace up your running shoes for the Honoring the Legacy Memorial Day 5K. This annual walk/run will begin at 8:45 am at Laderman Park, taking participants on a scenic course through the streets of Belleville. Proceeds from the 5K help support Trail Life USA and Belleville area Girl Scout troops, and the race will end at 9:45, just in time to catch the Belleville Memorial Day Parade!
   
   
4. Ekert's Memorial Day Festival - 951 S Green Mt Rd, Belleville, IL 62220
   Eckert's Belleville Farm is a fun place to visit year-round, offering a unique local food experience. An active farm and orchard as well as a market and tourist attraction, Eckert's will be hosting their annual Memorial Day Festival on May 24 through 26 this year. The festival includes activities like pony rides, a petting zoo, carnival games and rides, as well as a pick-your-own strawberry patch, live entertainment, and plenty of excellent food and drink. 
   
   
5. Skyview Drive-In - 5700 N Belt W, Belleville, IL 62226
   You can't beat an evening at the drive-in on Memorial Day weekend, and one of the best authentic drive-in movie experiences in Illinois is right around the corner at the Skyview Drive-In. This classic spot shows a new selection of movies every Friday and Saturday night, so be sure to keep an eye on their schedule for Memorial Day weekend showtime announcements!
   
   
6. O'Fallon Family Sports Park - 301 Obernuefemann Rd, O'Fallon, IL 62269
   Just a few miles outside of Belleville, O'Fallon Family Sports Park is one of the best places around for outdoor sports and recreation. With ball fields, tennis courts, and many other facilities, it's also a great place to enjoy family time this Memorial Day. The park includes picnic areas and pavilions that are available by reservation, and Memorial Day is also when the park's splash pad opens for the season.
