Belleville Spring Break

It's starting to warm up again in Southwest Illinois, which has our real estate agents dreaming of spring vacation. But you don't have to plan an expensive trip to a far-flung destination this spring, especially with so much to experience right here in Belleville.

Instead, let's plan a staycation in the Belleville area. With a wide variety of indoor and outdoor attractions in St. Clair County, we promise you won't run out of things to see and do!

  • Skate City - 1400 West Blvd, Belleville, IL 62221
Belleville's premier indoor roller skating facility, Skate City is a perfect spot to have some family fun during a Belleville staycation. All ages and abilities are welcome during regular hours, and Skate City also stays open late for adult nights (18+) on Wednesdays and Fridays after 8 pm. Just minutes from these Belleville homes for sale, Skate City also offers skate classes, and families skate free on the weekends.

  • Frank Holten State Park - 161 62220, IL-161, Belleville, IL 62220
One of the Midwest's great urban parks, Frank Holten State Park offers a green oasis in the heart of Belleville. The park spans more than 1,000 acres and includes woodlands crisscrossed by hiking trails, charming picnic areas with barbecue pits and pavilions, and a variety of sports and athletic facilities. Spring is a great time to visit Frank Holten State Park as the wildflowers bloom and the fishing starts to heat up in the park's two public lakes.

  • Skyview Drive-In - 5700 N Belt W, Belleville, IL 62226
Opening for the season on the first weekend in April, Skyview Drive-In is a classic drive-in movie theater that provides a rare and unique experience. The theater was first opened in 1949, and it's one of just a small handful of authentic drive-ins left in Illinois. Be sure to check their website for showtimes as soon as the spring schedule becomes available!

  • Eckert's Belleville Farm - 951 S Green Mt Rd, Belleville, IL 62220
Part farm stand, part country store, part restaurant and part event space, Eckert's Belleville Farm is an all-around fun experience in any season. Be sure to stop in during your staycation this spring, not just to eat, drink and shop, but to take part in some of the fun events currently scheduled. Tea parties, yoga events, live music, cooking classes and knitting workshops are just a few of the things happening at Eckert's this month.

  • Cahokia Mounds - 30 Ramey St, Collinsville, IL 62234
No staycation in Belleville is complete without a visit to Cahokia Mounds, one of the most unique and awe-inspiring historical sites in Illinois. Located just 20 minutes from downtown Belleville, Cahokia Mounds World Heritage & State Historic Site preserves a collection of 72 Native American mounds. The site was once part of a sprawling civilization that peaked around the year 1100 and was home to around 20,000 people, making it larger than London at the time.

  • Elmwood Golf Course - 1400 Eiler Rd, Belleville, IL 62223
There's no off-season at Elmwood Golf Course, a charming 9-hole course just outside of Belleville. Elmwood Golf Course is open from dawn to dusk seven days a week, year-round, weather permitting, and it's one of the best places to play golf in the area. Warm spring weekends offer great opportunities to dust off your clubs and practice your swing while the course is relatively quiet and uncrowded.
