During the winter, stop by to traverse the Orchard Loop Trail, which winds its way through the natural beauty of the farm and is especially beautiful when the landscape is draped with snow. In addition to outdoor attractions, Eckert's offers great indoor events like the Murder Mystery Dinner, as well as delicious dining from the Cider Shed, Deli, and Mr. E's Donut & Custard Shop.

  • Bellevue Park – 401 Bellevue Park Dr., Belleville, IL 62226
    For much of the year, Bellevue Park is known for the band shell where concerts are frequently hosted, or the tennis/pickleball courts which are a hub of activity during the warmer seasons. In the winter, this park becomes the perfect place for a relaxing nature walk, or some quiet relaxation while taking in the natural scenery on one of the benches around the 3-acre fishing lake. There's a one-mile fitness trail that takes you around much of the park, as well as the Angel of Hope Memorial Wall, Walkway, and Garden.

  • Bicentennial Park – 4811 Belleville Crossing, Belleville, IL 62220
    The newest park to be constructed in Bellevile, Bicentennial Park was built in honor of the 200th anniversary of the community's founding, and was completed in 2014. The park covers 43 acres and includes multiple ponds, which really add to the scenery. The nature trails here showcase the natural beauty of the park, making them ideal for a relaxing stroll or energetic run during the winter. There are sculptures here to view as you explore the park, along with playgrounds to keep the kids busy.

  • Laderman Park – 1105 Mascoutah Ave., Belleville, IL 62220
    Looking for a park where the kids can burn off some of that excess energy in the winter? Laderman Park offers 22 acres packed with activities, including a variety of lighted athletic fields and large picnic pavilions with electricity. It's a great destination for some outdoor games on a winter day. There's also a 1-mile walking trail, perfect for stretching out your legs.

  • Hough Park – 417 N. Third St., Belleville, IL 62220
    Winter is a wonderful, underrated time to bundle up and enjoy a picnic, which makes Hough Park the perfect place to wrap up our list. This park is known as Belleville's "Picnic Headquarters," with a large central pavilion and plenty of pleasant places to set up your picnic. There's also a fitness trail for winter walks, and large multi-use fields for winter games with the whole family.
